Crelan is Belgium’s largest cooperative bank. Created in 1937 by the Belgian state, its role at the time was to grant loans to farmers. Today, Crelan offers a wide range of products and services to its private, self-employed and corporate customers.
What was Crelan asking for?
As a cooperative bank, Crelan wants to thank its cooperators for their trust by offering them VIP treatment in the form of benefits on banking and non-banking products.
It was in this context that the collaboration between faxions and CrelanCo, Crelan’s shareholder cooperative, began in 2015. A particular focus in proposing a solution was to always emphasise the bank’s four core values: responsibility, solidarity, personal relationships and respect.
What solution did we come up with?
Today, this collaboration is based on a loyalty programme called CrelanCo Deals. The programme offers 295,000 cooperative shareholders exclusive benefits in a variety of areas throughout the year.
The CrelanCo Deals programme includes a “restaurant programme”, which is well known to cooperative shareholders and gives them 15% discounts in more than 100 restaurants throughout Belgium. The benefits programme is updated three times a year with the addition of around twenty new offers, preferably local ones, so that cooperative shareholders can benefit from advantageous offers in various areas at any time of the year.
The digital platform set up by our teams and accessible via crelancodeals.be is also a cornerstone of Crelan’s marketing strategy. In particular, it hosts the traditional photo competition for the bank’s calendar and various actions aimed at stimulating cooperative life within the bank.
With what results?
In 2023, cooperative shareholders enjoyed more than 12,000 meals in our partner restaurants, downloaded more than 50,000 discount vouchers, took part in all our sold-out events, etc. In total, together with Crelan, we have created more than 70,000 positive contact points onver a year!
